For all births that I plan to attend, I do a prenatal visit. This visit is very important so that I can get to know the birthing person and anyone else that will be involved with the labor and birth. Then I attend the birth and stay an hour or two after to make sure everyone is settled and if breastfeeding, that breastfeeding has begun. I am happy to grab pictures during and after the labor and birth according to what is most comfortable and what is wanted. After the birth, I do two postpartum visits. The first one is about 3 days after birth. I use this time line because that is about the time milk comes in. I do another visit at about six weeks.
The cost for the birth with the three visits I spoke of is $750.
I also offer ala carte type things also. They are as follows:
Childbirth classes in your home or a place of your choosing- $250
Breastfeeding education- $100
Additional prenatal visits if you feel you need it or would like it- $75
Postpartum doula services are offered by the hour-
For hours between 8 AM and 8 PM the fee is $25 per hour with a 4 hour minimum
For hours between 8 PM and 8 AM the fee is $35 per hour with an 8 hour minimum
Please do not let prices deter you. I believe that every woman should have a Doula regardless of their ability to pay. I work on a case by case basis.
